Increased productivity when manufacturing with industrial robots!

Fixed supply contracts and the constraints of cost optimisation force cell operators to utilise their robot cells to maximum capacity. This is where the Wiest system offers valuable service, because it makes manual re-teaching unnecessary.

When a tool or component is replaced following a crash or maintenance work, it is often found that the robot programs are out of position. The standard procedure in this case is to manually re-teach the programs. Where robot programs are complex or there is a large number of variants, this can often result in production stoppages lasting hours.

The solution

With the LaserLAB measuring sensors the robots and the robot tools are measured right in the production cell. The easy-to-use software automatically transmits the calculated corrective data to the robot control, thus ensuring that the position accuracy is restored.

The Wiest system is used not only for servicing, but also in many other application areas:

  • Calibrating component coordinate systems, external axes or cooperating robots
  • Cloning robots
  • Compensating the temperature drift of robots
  • Setting up programs generated off-line for the production environment

Our system interfaces with the controllers of major robot manufacturers: Kuka, ABB, Motoman, Comau, Mitsubishi and Stäubli.

The measuring system is very compact, so it can be used flexibly on multiple robot cells. It is the ideal system for quality control and maintenance of robot cells.
